[Advanced Machine Learning Course]
Choose any one of the topics listed below, collect and read at least six English papers on this topic, and then write a report in Chinese. Note that you should review the state-of-the-art of your chosen area (e.g., what are the problems concerned? what have been done? what will be done?), and give your own opinions in your paper (in order to accomplish a good work, you may need to read far more than six papers). We encourage reading papers that utilize cutting-edge models to solve problems.

How to find out the related paper?
I think, all of you should know to use search engines, like google, to find papers. Beside search engines, here I list some other tricks.
People/Group Orient: You could first identify important people/groups in that sub-domain by google scholar, and then find more related papers in their website.
Citation Orient: You could use search engine, like google scholar, to find papers with most citations in that sub-domain. In this way, you can find many classical and influential (but maybe not up-to-date) papers in this sub-domain.
Top Conference/Top Journal Orient: You could find a lot of up-to-date pappers on your topic from the top conferences or top journals. This would help you understand the state of art of your selected topic. To see which conferences or journals are top ones, you may refer to google scholar or LAMDA Library.
Note that it might be difficult for you to understand all the details of all your collected papers, in fact, it is not neccesssry. You'd better keep in mind to answer following problems when you are reading a paper,
1)What is the problem concerned and why this problem is important?
2)How is the problem solved, completely solved or partially solved?
3)Does it have any relatationship with other papers you have read?
What to write and how to write?
First of all, you collect everything in your survey. Second of all, find a clue about the questions&your answers in How to read. Thirdly, begin to write a survey following the clue you found.
Some tricks:
1)When you are writing your report, please assume that your readers know nothing about your topic.
2)When you are writing your report, please keep your mind clear. It is better to first write down a outline.
3)After finishing your report, please check out your language and logic.
