Short Biography

I am currently an assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science and Technology at Nanjing University. My research interests include Cloud and Big Data computing systems, efficient Cache/Index systems, Edge systems, etc. I have published over 60 papers in USENIX ATC, ICDE, WWW, INFOCOM, VLDBJ, IEEE TPDS, TKDE, TNET, TMC, IPDPS, ICPP, IWQoS, and published a monograph. I received the IEEE TCSC Award for Excellence in Scalable Computing (Early Career), IEEE HPCC 2022 Best Paper Award (first author), the first prize of Jiangsu Science and Technology Prize in 2018, Outstanding Alibaba Innovative Research Program Award in 2023, Tecent Cloud Valuable Professional (TVP) Award in 2021, the first place of the 30th SortBenchmark Competition CloudSort Track (Record Holder). My research results have been adopted by a number of well-known open source software such as Apache Spark, Alluxio, and leading IT/domain companies, including Alibaba, Baidu, Tencent, ByteDance, Huatai Securities, Intel, Sinopec, Weibo and so on. I am the community chair of the Fluid open source project (CNCF Sandbox project), a founding PMC member & maintainer of Alluxio (formly Tachyon) open source project. I am also the co-program chair of 15th IEEE iThings,the co-chair of 23rd ChinaSys, TPC member of SOSP’21/OSDI’22/USENIX ATC’22 Artifacts、AAAI’20、IEEE IPDPS’22.

Bio in Chinese(中文简介): 顾荣,南京大学特聘研究员,博士生导师,主要研究方向为云计算与大数据系统、高效缓存/索引系统、边缘计算系统等,目前在相关研究领域共发表论文60余篇,包括一流国际学术期刊和会议USENIX ATC, ICDE, WWW, INFOCOM, VLDBJ, IEEE TPDS, TKDE, TNET, TMC, IPDPS, ICPP, IWQoS, DASFAA等,出版学术专著2部,授权发明专利13项。主持国家自然科学基金面上项目/青年项目、国家重点研发计划子课题、中国博士后科学基金特别资助项目,以及中国石化、中国中车、华泰证券、华为、阿里巴巴、腾讯、中兴通讯、字节跳动等企业创新基金项目等10余项,研究成果落地于合作企业以及国际著名开源系统 Apache Spark、Alluxio,获江苏省科学技术一等奖、IEEE可扩展计算委员会杰出早期职业学者奖、IEEE HPCC会议最佳论文奖(第一作者)、阿里巴巴达摩院优秀学术合作项目奖(2023)、中国“互联网+”大学生创新创业大赛全国总决赛金奖/银奖(2019/2022)、腾讯云最具价值专家奖项、南京大学青年五四奖章、第30届国际计算机排序基准评估比赛CloudSort赛道第1名、ACM南京分会学术新星奖(2021,排名第1)、江苏省计算机学会青年科技奖,入选江苏省科协青年人才托举工程、中国尖峰开源人物(2021,中国信通院评选),担任中国计算机学会高级会员/分布式计算与系统专委执行委员/系统软件专委执行委员/大数据专委会通讯委员、中国通信学会高级会员/开源技术委员会委员、江苏省计算机学会青年工委副主任/大数据专委会秘书长、Fluid开源社区主席(Linux基金会旗下CNCF官方项目)、Alluxio开源项目管理委员会创始委员,担任Journal of System Architecture (CCF B类)专刊Leading Guest Editor,第15届IEEE iThings国际会议程序委员主席、第23届中国计算机系统研讨会(ChinaSys)大会联合主席、SOSP’21/OSDI’22/USENIX ATC’22 Artifacts、AAAI’20、IEEE IPDPS’22程序委员会委员。
